The 76th Independence Day has brought along with it some good news for the government workers of Telangana and Gujarat with both the state governments publicizing a three per cent hike in honey allowance, along with other benefits.
The decision of DA hike by the state governments comes indeed as the Centre is yet to advertise the importantawaited hike in honey allowance, which was anticipated last month.
The honey allowance is hiked doubly every time- January and July. According to media reports, the honey allowance is anticipated to rise by 4 per cent this time to neutralize the impact of affectation.

Gujarat CM announces 3 per cent DA hike
Addressing a function in Patan to celebrate Foundation Day of Gujarat, Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel on Sunday announced a three per cent hike in dearness allowance of 9.38 lakh state government employees, employees of the panchayat services and pensioners.
Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel on Monday blazoned a three per cent hike in honey allowance for government workers, along with expansion of weal schemes under the National Food Security Act( NFSA).
He blazoned a three per cent increase in the DA for Gujarat government workers under the 7th Pay Commission, with retrospective effect from January 1, 2022.
Over 9 lakh workers of the state government, panchayat service and pensioners will profit from the move due to which the state government's fiscal burden will go up by about Rs,400 crore annually.
Patel also blazoned the expansion of the one- kg gram( beats) per card per family scheme for the NFSA card holders, and widening the income limit eligibility criteria for addition of heirs under the Act.

Further, CM Patel also blazoned the expansion of weal schemes under the National Food Security Act( NFSA). He said 71 lakh NFSA card holders from all 250 talukas of the state will be given one kg gram( beats) per card per month at a concessional rate. At presentonly the people from 50 developing talukas are getting benefit of the scheme. The being eligibility criteria of income limit per month for addition under the NFSA has been increased to ₹,000 from ₹,000, he said.
" It's our responsibility to keep reaching new heights of safety and peace in a peacefuldeveloping and safe Gujarat and establish new records of all- inclusive developmentLet us take a pledge to make this jubilee of Independence as the occasion to make public interest as consummate in our hearts and minds," he said.
