It's suspected that the Central government will likely hike up the DA rates for both workers and pensioners ahead of the gleeful season by another 3 per cent. This decision will probably come soon as the Central government had formerly restored the DA of workers. The DA was hiked from 17 per cent to 28 per cent by the government, with the hike applicable for their hires from July 2021 onwards.

It should also be noted that the government had hiked up the workers’House Rent Allowance (HRA) from 24 per cent to 27 per cent. With the eventuality of the DA and DR being hiked again by another 3 per cent, the DA would stand at around 31 per cent against their introductory payment in the near future.

The Centre is likely to advertise a big update on Dearness Allowance (DA) and Honey Relief (DR) for the central government workers and pensioners on Thursday. Indeed though the Central government has n’t made nay sanctioned advertisement over the hike in honey allowance, the data from All India Consumer Price Index (AICPI) for January to May 2021 indicates that the DA for central government workers could increase by 3.

The DA and DR hike was approved by the Union Cabinet after a meeting was held before in the day. It's a welcome development for central government workers and pensioners.

In July 2021, the government eventually approved pending DA and DR hikes for central government workers and pensioners after nearly a time.

It may be noted that the government temporarily halted honey allowance and honey relief benefits for central government workers and pensioners in 2020 due to a space in profit collection after the Covid-19 epidemic devastated the frugality.
