Important Instructions for Filling Online Admission Form (B.Ed.)


Meant for preparing teachers for secondary schools, this four year (earlier two year) training course is open to intermediates, with an emphasis on the principles and methodology of teaching, leading to the Bachelor of Teaching (B.T.), subsequently renamed as Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) degree. In some states there is Licentiate in Teaching (L.T.), which is considered equivalent to the B.Ed. degree. Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) is an undergraduate course offered for those interested in pursuing a career in teaching. The B.Ed. degree is mandatory for teaching at the secondary (classes 6 to 10) and higher secondary (10+2 or classes 11 and 12). The minimum qualification required for entry into B.Ed. course is intermediate (10+2). While students from the Arts stream are trained to teach subjects like History, Civics, Geography, and languages, the students from the Science stream are trained to teach Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, and Biology. The duration of the course will be four years from session 2020-21 as per NCTE Regulations, 2019. After B.Ed., students can pursue Master of Education (M.Ed.) in any Indian university or teacher-training institutes offering the course. The National Council for Teacher Education is the statutory body which regulating teacher training courses in the country of India.

The Right to Free and Compulsory Education for Children (RTE Act 2009) came into force from April 2010. The act emphasizes on quality education for every child. As such, with the view to bring about quality education in schools, it is required that the entry level percentage to B.Ed. be 50 for those candidates in the General Category and 45 for Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes.

A Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) is a graduate professional degree which prepares students for work as a teacher in schools, though in some countries like Tanzania, Kenya and various other countries, additional tasks like field work and research are required in order for the student to be fully qualified to teach.

The Bachelor of Elementary Education (B.El.Ed.) programme is a four-year integrated professional degree programme offered after the higher secondary stage of school. B.El.Ed. is designed to integrate the study of subject knowledge, human development, pedagogical knowledge, and communication skills. Both professional and academic options are available to students who graduate with a B.El.Ed. degree.

B.ED. Candidates wishing to get admission in the course must first get the E-PIN for filling up the online admission form from the university website In which you will find the username and password for online registration. With the help of this username-password, the entrant can enter Dr. B.Ed. given on Babasaheb Ambedkar Open University website Register by following the instructions on the online entrance test application link. And to complete the application process in orderly steps. The entrant must enter the entry form into the Mozilla browser. Before starting the registration, to scan all the documents for educational qualification and other necessary documents and keep them in the appropriate size in a soft copy, to decide that the entrance test has to be given only in the subject where Method-1 is to be kept in B.ED. Married sisters should register under a changed name only if they have a copy of the gazette regarding the name after marriage. Step-01: Decide on the subject in which the Entrance Test is to be given. Click on Online Registration. In the page that opens, fill in the details of name, caste, and subject (Method-1 for which the entrance examination is to be given) as per the instructions. These details cannot be changed once submitted, so submit carefully by providing a username and password. Enter the username and password by clicking on “Sign-in” in the given menu.

Step-02: After signing in, click on Form Entry and fill in all the details in capital letters.


Step-03: Go to Upload Documents menu and upload the following documents. Keep in mind that if the size of the documents will be more, then after resizing it, upload it

Give the candidate his own phone number and e-mail.


Step-04: After uploading the document, the entrant will see the details of the completed form on the screen. If it is found to be correct or defective, then it has to be corrected by clicking on ‘Edit Option’ given below and if it is not found to be defected, then ‘Final Admission Submission’ has to be clicked. By doing this, the e-Admission Form of the entrant will be generated in PDF. After printing, the entrant has to attach the following documents and submit them at the university within the given time limit.

Step-05: Enclosed self-attested copy of all the above mentioned documents along with the printed form. To be sent to Babasaheb Ambedkar Open University, Ahmedabad in self admissions department, in person or by registered post within the given time limit. Certificate of Experience (Competent Officer / Acting Principal of the school and if acting as Principal in the school with counter signature of the superior officer on the Certificate of Experience) as well as Candidates who have submitted their Certificate to another office should attach a certified copy of the same. Passed, NCTE approved course marksheet, graduate, post graduate marksheet, caste certificate, disability (PH 60% disability) certificate, LC, Aadhaar card etc. to be enclosed.
